The Explorers Club began in 2024, meeting monthly in the Nantclwyd y Dre, as a replacement for the old Awaydays Group. It was a group to exchange news about theatre, cinema, concerts and exhibitions; plan walks, bus rides or sight-seeing trips; in fact anything more fun to do in company than alone.

The Explorers Club no longer meets as a face-to-face group, but has become an on-line WhatsApp group, where u3a members can meet others with similar interests, to link up and plan their own adventures.

To join the WhatsApp group, you need to be a current member of Ruthin & District u3a and be willing to share your mobile phone number with other members of the group.
