Poetry for Pleasure

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
Group email: Poetry for Pleasure group
When: Monthly on Tuesday afternoons 2:00 pm
First Tuesday of the month
Venue: Naylor Leyland Centre
Cost: Typically £2 - £3 per person

The emphasis is on enjoyment; we take it in turns to suggest a theme, with 1 to 3 poems sought from each group member on the theme, from ancient to modern – the co-ordinator gathers the contributions and distributes the compilation by email to each (or on paper where preferred).  We read our selected poems to the group, often giving a little background on the poet and maybe commenting on the poem and its style and saying what appealed to us about it.  We have a break for tea/coffee and biscuits.    We could usually welcome one or two new members – the capacity of the current room is 10.
